Angus A. Bruneau, OC, Ph.D, P.Eng. has been involved with research, development, innovation and related policy matters for many years. In 1968 he was appointed Dean and established the Faculty of Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Dr. Bruneau has served as a Member of the SCC, NRC, NSERC, and CAE. He has also served on many energy related committees including the ECC, CEA and WEC. Most recently Dr. Bruneau chaired NRCan’s Advisory Panel on Sustainable Energy, Science and Technology.
In 1978 he established a consulting firm, Bruneau Resources Management Ltd. In 1986 Dr. Bruneau became CEO of Newfoundland Power and Chairman in 1990; in 1987 he established Fortis Inc. (a holding company of national and international electric utility companies), where he served as President and CEO and as Chairman from 1988 to 2006.
He sits on the Boards of Inco, Petro-Canada and Sustainable Development Technology Canada.
