The Energy Council of Canada invites you to see the beginning of Canada’s commercial energy in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  Born in 1720, in the coalfields of Cow Bay, the North American energy trade's humble beginning started with a shipment of coal to Boston in 1724.  Canada's contribution to the world's energy supply has vastly increased in the past years and we look forward to planning for an exciting future on the world stage.

The Energy Council of Canada invites you to Nova Scotia!

Mark your calendars and plan to meet with your colleagues from industry, government, sector associations and academia from across North America.  We will discuss the vital role that energy plays as a driver for economic and social prosperity, a role that needs to be fulfilled in a way that responsibly addresses the climate change challenge.

The theme for the 2007 Forum is Towards an Energy Vision for North America.  The Forum will be comprised of five sessions, which are as follows:

·        Energy Diversification: The Security Challenge

·        Energy Diversification: The Climate Change Challenge

·        Technology Challenges

·        Energy Efficiency

·        Energy Trade

In addition to addressing the challenges facing the energy sector, this Forum will allow the participants to provide input which will update the findings from the two previous North American Regional Forums. This will help to prepare for the World Energy Congress being held November 9-15 in Rome, Italy.

This promises to be a very exciting Forum, one that you will not want to miss.
