Val Mirosh

 

Vice-President

Nova Chemicals Corporation

 

 

As an engineer and lawyer, Val has spent his 35-year career working in most areas of activity related to energy issues, in Canada as well as internationally.

 

Val began his career with Imperial Oil Enterprises in Sarnia. After completing his law degree he joined the Calgary-based international law firm of MacLeod Dixon, specializing in energy, regulatory and international law.  After twenty-two years with MacLeod Dixon he joined Alberta Natural Gas Company Limited as Executive Vice President and later as its President.  Val became a senior executive with TransCanada Pipelines Limited where he held several key positions responsible for Strategic Planning,  Northern Development, Regulatory Strategy and Business Development.

 

Now a Vice-President at Nova Chemicals Corporation and President of Olefins/Feedstocks, Val continues to be active in energy related matters.  In addition to serving on the Board of the Latin American Research Centre and the Energy Council of Canada, he is currently co-chair of the University of Calgary Faculty of Social Sciences Advisory Board, a director of the Institute for Advanced Policy Research as well as a director of several public companies.
