James Gillis

 

Deputy Minister of Energy, Ontario 

 

As Deputy Minister of Energy, he is responsible for ensuring that the development and implementation of policies reflect the direction of the provincial government.  He provides advice and support to the Minister of Energy and acts as the interface between the political and bureaucratic function of the ministry.

 

Prior to joining the Ministry of Energy, James was a member of the Investment Banking Group of TD Securities, a division of TD Bank Financial Group.  While at TD, James oversaw TD’s Utilities and Power Practice in Canada, advising corporations as well as governments and government utilities on a range of financial and strategic matters.

 

Deputy Gillis is also a director with the Ontario Electricity Financial Corporation.  He is a graduate of the University of Toronto where he earned an honours BA and MBA.  .
