Andrew Stephens

As Vice-President, Corporate Planning and Communications, Mr. Stephens is responsible for leading Petro-Canada’s business planning activities and communications with the public, governments and investors.

 

Since joining Petro-Canada as a Process Engineer in 1979, Mr. Stephens has held senior leadership roles in the Upstream, Downstream and Shared Services business units. He held various management positions until 1991 when he was appointed Senior Director, Head Office Business Integration. In 1993, he was appointed Vice-President, Strategic Processes and Integration for Upstream operations.  He became Vice-President, Business Services of the Corporation in 1995 and later took on the role of Vice-President, Downstream Liaison and Chief Information Officer.

 

Most recently, Mr. Stephens was Vice-President of Refining and Supply from 1998 to 2003. Prior to joining Petro-Canada, he spent two years as a Process Engineer at Gulf Canada.

 

Mr. Stephens graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1977 with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Chemical Engineering.

 

He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta, and has served in a variety of positions including President of the Youth Science Foundation.
