World Energy Council- North American Regional Report

This Report represents the culmination of the North America contribution for a major global study carried out by the World Energy Council (WEC). The global study was initiated after the World Energy Congress in Sydney, Australia, in 2004. For the period, 2004 to 2007, WEC undertook a global study on energy policy scenarios for the next half century. Despite the many challenges and complexities in executing a Global Study with direct participation from the many Regions and Countries around the world, the exercise proved to be very successful. All five Regions of the world participated, along with 67 WEC member country associations. This included the North America Region and its three member countries (U. S., Canada and Mexico)

The work in North America was initiated in 2006. It included 1 1/2 day workshops in each of Canada, the United States and Mexico. It was a well received program engaging great minds within each country.  Having completed this Report, we are now hopeful that the results of this major initiative will represent a valuable contribution for addressing the many energy related strategic and policy challenges in Canada.
