2014 Energy Summit and
WEC North America Region Energy Forum
June 24 – 26, 2014 | Calgary
The Energy Council of Canada organizes a series of events through the year which focus on energy issues and opportunities of interest to our members and to energy stakeholders across the country. These events contribute to fulfilling the Energy Council's mission which aims to forge a better understanding of energy issues in order to optimally shape the energy sector for the benefit of all Canadians.
The highest profile events in the Energy Council's annual program are the 2014 Canadian Energy Summit and the World Energy Council North America Region Energy Forum. These will be held back-to-back on June 24, 25 and 26 at the Hyatt Regency in Calgary.
Session themes include topics such as the latest developments in energy infrastructure, new technologies and evolving market practices in the electricity sector, updates on the race to develop LNG projects, the latest developments in oil and gas and electricity markets and, an interesting session on what it takes to obtain and maintain a company's social licence. A focal point for the Forum will be Mexico's strategic decision to reform its oil and gas and electricity sectors, creating opportunities for energy companies to diversify their markets and areas of operation. The outline of the program for these events is shown below for your reference.
These events will provide an opportunity to gain insights on the latest energy developments, dialogue with and forge relationships with executives and managers from oil & gas and electricity companies in Canada, the United States and Mexico, together with senior officials from the government and senior executives with the leading industry associations from across the energy sector.
Bringing together decision-makers, policy influencers and energy industry leaders, the 2014 Canadian Energy Summit addresses a broad range of issues that touch upon all sectors making up Canada’s energy industry.
